1- The Origin of Humoral Medicine

We, the people of Ahlus-Sunnah and Jama^ah say that it is Allaah, Who creates the capacity to obey Him and Allah creates illness and cures. The Science of humoral medicine has a long history, dating back thousands of years to the start of Humanity. The origin of this science originated through revelation from Allah to our Master Prophet Adam peace be upon him, who taught this great knowledge and its principles to his children, this included understanding ‘the Four Natures’: hotness, coldness, wetness and dryness which exist in humans, foods, herbal medicines, geography and seasons and others… Many generations later, Prophet Idris (3rd Prophet and Messenger after Adam) received relation and added to this science, and then many centuries later, Prophet Sulayman received revelation and added more to this Medicinal Science. People afterwards, took this revealed knowledge and used it extensively in treating their sick patients resulting in many further discoveries and contribution to this science from which the source of this science was revelation from Allah to His Prophets. Likewise, the origin of the science of the pulse came from revelation to Prophet Adam and other Prophets. From which the condition of the interior chief organs like the heart, the liver, the brain and others can be known, as well as numerous internal illnesses. Later people made additional discoveries enhancing and expanding on this knowledge. Prophet Adam was the first to teach his children some of the fundaments of the pulse science. When he left Paradise Allah had made him know ةعنص all things, He taught him everything necessary to live, including the medical science.

2- Humoral Medicine is the Correct Reference for all Medical Science

Humoral Medicine is the Genuine Medicine that is the reference for all medical science, because its origin stems from revelation onto our great prophets since the beginning of humanity. Therefore, everything that contradicts the fundaments of this medicine (from revelation) is not true medicine but only experiments but in reality has no relation with medicine. From the beginning of the ages, human beings used humoral medicine everywhere around the world. It was the medicine that gained many profits as a Science, Medication and as Prophylactic treatment, preserving their health until our present time. The only medicine, that was certified, recognized, predominantly accepted and utilized since the beginning of humanity until the end of the 19th century (late 1800’s) was Humoral Medicine, (namely Herbal Medicine) which anciently was also known under a variety of other names including: •Egyptian medicine •Unani medicine •Roman medicine •Chinese medicine •Indian medicine •Persian medicine •Ancient European medicine •^Arabic medicine or Muslim medicine Regardless of what names were used in accordance to countries and epoch, it had an exclusive origin, which is the medicine based on the fundaments of the four natures: hotness, coldness, wetness and dryness for the diagnosis, treatment and healing. Among the reasons of hindrance in the field of the renaissance of medicine generally, was to quit the implementation of humoral medicine that carried on anciently since the start of humanity, deviate from its scientific methodology substantiated by revelation and experience, and turn to another – namely newly invented methodologies. Today, we witness that most people are trying vainly to return to nature, by utilizing natural treatments through herbs, but without adhering to the guiding principles and fundament of Humoral medicine. *As such, it’s imperative to know – there is no successful and correct return to herbal medicine without following the bases/principles of Humoral Medicine and the four natures.
