Dhul Qadah Islamic Month

- By Madiha Khan ·

D hul Qadah is the second last month of Islamic calendar. It is taken from the word “Qa’ada” which means to sit. This is the third holy month in which battling was illegal. The individuals additionally used to stop their personal and business activities amid this month and sit and get ready for the Hajj (Pilgrimage). This is additionally a sacred month. Indeed, the number of months with Allāh is twelve [lunar] months in the register of Allāh [from] the day He created the heavens and the earth [Al-Tauba:36]

Events Occur in Dhul Qadah month:

In the year 5 A.H, The battle of Khandaq and Ahzab took place. In the year 6 A.H, Truce of Hudaubiyah and Bay’ at-e-Rizwaan’ In the year 7 A.H, The Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (S.A.W) and his Companions came to Makkah to perform Umrah. Some false convictions are joined to this month by oblivious individuals. They say that this month is not a favored month accordingly, relational unions ought not to be held or solemnized in the month of Dhul Qadah. As indicated by them, a marriage held in this month may not be fruitful rather it may convey trouble to the husbands.

This conviction is completely ridiculous. A Muslim ought to never go to such superstitious impulses. Truth be told, the month is one of the purified months, as said prior. It is narrated by Anas (R) that Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (S.A.W) performed three Umrah in this month. He performed one Umra from Al Hudaibiya in Dhul Qadah, another Umra in this year “Dhul Qadah” a third from Al-Jirana where he distributed the war booty of Hunain, in Dhul Qadah. In the last month “Dhul Hijja” of the Islamic calendar, he performed Hajj.
