Thousands come together to celebrate

More than 120,000 people descended on Holland Park on July 22 and 23 to enjoy food, music and entertainment at 44 cultural pavilions. This was the tenth year for the festival and recorded the highest attendance. This important mile- stone conincided with Canada’s 150th birthday and in its honor, a Canada 150 zone was set up featuring Canadian and French-Canadian exhibits, and an indigenous village. Pakistan’s pavilion was one of two pavilions who won the Heritage Award at the festival. It had long lines on both days where people waited to enjoy barbecue organized by dedicated volunteers led by Mr. Afzal Mailk and Mrs Zanbka Malik.
