PM Trudeau makes a stop at fundraising

-

Liberal supporters gathered at Aria Banquet Hall on July 31 for a chance to hear and meet PM Justin Trudeau. Randeep Sarai, MP Surrey-Centre hosted the event and welcomed Trudeau on the stage. Trudeau, who had just returned from William Lake after observing the BC wildfire damage firsthand, urged everyone to make donation to Red Cross to help the victims of BC wildfire. He then went on to outline the economic achievements of his government including investment in LRT for Surrey, the opioid crisis in BC, and in clean technology as well as a crude oil tanker moratorium on BC’s north coast and a renewed relationship with Asia pacific countries to support job growth. He also spoke about divisive politics. He said that we had a choice to draw on anxieties or pull together as a society to give ourselves the tools to fight challenges. He talked about Canada’s commitment in bringing out the best in our neighbors instead of fighting against the worst. At the end, he urged the supporters to donate their time and money to the Liberal party to support the groundwork for the next campaign. The event ended with the vote of thanks by Bilal Cheema from the dinner fundraising committee. The event was well attended including many members of the Muslim community who got a chance to have their official photograph taken with the PM at the end of the event.
