An “EVENING OF LOVE & SERENITY”

On Oct 20,Once again, the Association of Islamic Charitable Projects in British Columbia succeeds in enriching the Islamic and cultural mosaic; our community is made out of, by hosting an Evening of Love & Serenity by the world Renowned Islamic Artist/Chanter Brother Yahya Basal. Being the “Resounding Voice of Moderation”, the AICP encourages Muslims to better themselves through education and academic excellence, as well as engaging in cultural activities that benefit them and other Muslims. And what is better than remembering Allah and praising His Prophet to bring love and serenity to one’s heart? The AICP and its Chanting Group welcomed hundreds of Muslims varying in national origin, ethnicity, age, and gender, who gathered at the Crystal at York Banquet Hall on Friday, October 20 to listen to Brother Yahya Basal praising Allah and His Messenger with the company of the AICP Chanting Group. The event started with Qur’an recitation by the guest Islamic singer Muhammad Mdalal, followed by a religious oration delivered by Islamic Education Director, who stressed on unity among Muslim referring to verse 103 of Surat al-^Imran, which means: And hold firmly to the religion of Allah all together and do not become divided. And remember the favor of Allah upon you - when you were enemies and He brought your hearts together and you became, by His favor, brothers. And you were on the edge of a pit of the Fire, and He saved you from it. The Companions of the honorable Prophet got together in harmony and brotherhood; under one banner, one goal following the true commands of Allah and the teachings of His Prophet. The talented singer Haaj Yahya Basal, accompanied by the Islamic singer Muhammad Mdalal and AICP Chanting Group then ignited the senses and feelings, of those who filled the hall, with captivating Islamic chants and poems. The audience, even the non-Arabic speakers, reacted with awe at the singers’ performance overwhelmed with joy and longing for the Prophet, peace be upon him.
