Alhamdulilah, Muslim Food Bank and Community Services (MFB) was awarded the 2017 “HEART in the CITY award” by the City of Surrey on October 25th, 2017. The Heart in the City award formally recognizes and celebrates Surreybased individuals and groups that are making a positive difference in the lives of people in Surrey, particularly the lives of vulnerable people. This award would not be possible without each and every volunteers’ dedication and hard work and the support and donations from our community. Congratulations to everyone for this great achievement! Currently we look after 600 mostly families on a monthly basis and run several programs to meet their needs. We need more volunteers and donations to continue providing these services for our brothers and sisters. Our donations comes mostly from individual donors as we don’t get government funding for the food bank operations.
