Australia-Fiji discuss areas of cooperation

AUSTRALIAN High Commissioner to Fiji John Feakes paid a courtesy visit yesterday to Minister for Industry, Trade, Tourism, Lands and Mineral Resources Faiyaz Koya to discuss areas of cooperation in investment, trade, and tourism. Mr Feakes who is a senior career officer with the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) said he was committed to strengthening relations and enhancing future development cooperation between Fiji and Australia during his term here. He has served Kenya, Lebanon, Jordan, Afghanistan, Solomon Islands, Papua New Guinea and the United States. Meanwhile, Mr Koya said with eight consecutive years of economic growth, the Fiji- an economy was geared towards expanding trade and export base with other countries in a sustainable manner.
