I have dreamed of returning to Pakistan for five years, says emotional Malala in homecoming speech

“I have dreamed of returning to Pakistan for the past five years,” said a visibly emotional Malala Yousafzai in her speech at the Prime Minister House in Islamabad on Thursday.“I continued my education there [in the United Kingdom], but I have always wanted to move freely in Pakistan,” said the youngest Nobel Prize laureate, who returned to Pakistan after more than five years late Wednesday night. “I want to invest in the education of children.” “Pakistan women should be empowered,” she added. The 20-year-old Oxford University student is currently in Pakistan on a four-day visit. She arrived on Wednesday night accompanie­d by her father Ziauddin, Farah Mohamed and Amirobyn Thompson after more than five years away from the country.
