On July 1, many Pakistani Canadians gathered at Crescent Park in South Surrey. They had been invited by the Pakistani Canadian Cultural Association (PCCA) to celebrate 151st Canada Day. Dignitaries including NDP MLAs Hon. Harry Bains, & Hon. Bruce joined the crowd and cut a large cake honoring Canada Day. A large number of Pakistani families came with their contributions to pot luck picnic table, filling it with a large variety of delicious food, fruits, sweets, and drinks. Meanwhile the park was filled with the pleasant smell of delicious BBQ being prepared by PCCA volunteers for hours. President & General Secretary of PCCA with many other directors did a great efforts and made success. Some directors showed their perfection in Sizzling Chicken Tikkas on the grill with other fellows for all. After lunch, men, women and chil- dren enjoyed many games included cricket, musical chairs, tug of war and sack race. Everyone also got a chance to enjoy Pakistani Music and take part in a Quiz while the kids playing in the Children’s Park and received Prizes. This hugely successful event was a collaborated effort of not just the PCCA Directors but also their families. Everyone fully enjoyed their time at the picnic.
