The Ethnic Press and Media of BC Meet in Pacific Inn Hotel in Surrey
With the help of Mr. Vinnie Combow, General Manager of the Voice Group of Publications, and Maura De Freitas, publisher: “The Celtic Connection” the meeting was held on Saturday the 21st of July from 12:00 noon to 2:30 pm at the Pacific Inn Hotel in Surrey. This was a very important meeting and the fact that Thomas Saras Editor-InChief and CEO at Patrides. Thomas is the leader of a large media association called National Ethnic Press and Media Council of Canada, with members counting more than 600 print publications, broadcast organizations and online publications. Under his leadership, the NEPMCC has conducted education seminars and conferences for journalists from all over Canada. Thomas has worked hard to advance the interests of ethnic media and secure funding and advertising revenue from government sources. Thomas Saras and Yuri came all the way from Toronto to make this highly informative presentation. Mr. Saras informed to Ethnic Media about serious changes in the system of funding of the ethnic publishers. A details orientation has been given by both speakers. In Q & A session many questions has been raised. Miracle Media asked about the procedure to get Govt. funding and Ads for the Ethnic Media. Mr. Thomas Saras brieved the procedure and request to all first they will get membership of NEPMCC to build a strong voice then we can fight for our rights. At the end Awards have been distributed to Mr. Vinnie Combow and Ms. Maura De Freitas.
