Masjid al-Salaam & Education Centre’s annual Fundraising dinner
On Dec 11, The period 2019 to 2021 will go in history as the most challenging time of our generation due to pandemic factors. Our lives’ basic routines and norms – going to work, visiting loved ones, praying at your mosque in particular during Ramadan were interrupted by the pandemic.
During last two years, Masjid Al-Salaam has continued to provide services despite of no or limited congregations. This has impacted adversely on the Masjid’s financial resources. In order to ensure that Masjid can meets its operation expenses, on December 11th Fundraising Dinner was organized with the objective to generate $100,000/The event started with Quran recitation; Br. Yasin Taqi welcomed the audience with special thanks to the sponsors. Br. Bob Rahiman – Chairperson Br. Masjid commented on the proactive and diverse role of Masjid Al-Salaam in connecting with community despite of pandemic either online or in person (where possible).
Br. Asad Gondal – the president elect BCMA was the chief guest and he thanked the Masjid Al-Salaam for its positive role in the community and expressed his commitment to work for the all branches and chapters of BCMA. Imam Yahya shared the story of a companion of Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) – Abu Darda and motivated the audience to invest in here and hereafter by donating toward Masjid’s operating expenses. Ahamdolliah, the Masjid raised approximately $96,000 and Imam Yahya made dua for all the donors.The event was followed by dinner where a delicious prepared by Masjid’s volunteers was served.
