Rev. Lidvald Haugen-Strand was Celebrant and Preacher on the Fourth Sunday after Pentecost marking the close of Sunday School classes. Greeters were John and Judy Fitzpatrick. Sunday School children and their teachers were welcomed during the singing of Jesus Loves Me. Presentation of certificates to the children was made by the Rector, followed by presentation of certificates to the teachers by Warden Harry DeMone. Children and congregation shared in the singing and actions of Knock, Knock, Knock, accompanied by Joel Pratt on piano. Scripture Readers were Rev. Cecil Hebb and Sandra Mosher reading from 1 Kings 21: 1-10, 15-21a, and Galatians 2:15-21. Layreader Joel Pratt was Cantor for Psalm 5. God of the Women was sung to welcome the Gospel, Luke 7: 36 - 8:3, read by the Rector. In his sermon, Rev. Lid focused on the topic of leadership while referring to the scripture readings of the day. Prayers of the People were led by layreader Gerry Punke and the congregation exchanged The Peace. Offering was received by the ushers during the singing of God the Creator. Bob Boudreau was altar server and layreader Joel Pratt administered the chalice during Communion. Organist Genesta Hamm provided musical accompaniment during the service. Service on Sunday will be 10 a.m. Holy Eucharist with the Rector as Celebrant and Preacher. A short Congregational Meeting will be held following the service to vote on a motion from Parish Council.
