New Horizons for Seniors funding announced in Central Nova

-

Central Nova MP Sean Fraser announced more than $125,000 in New Horizons for Seniors Program funding to various organizations on Saturday.

Stella Maris Parish Hall in Pictou, Plymouth Community Recreation Association, the Pictou County Council of Seniors, and LORDA all received funds to go towards things like heat pumps, repairs, and a wood chipper.

“During the course of the campaign and since my time in office began, I’ve had tremendous opportunities to meet with seniors living in our region. Investments in seniors’ organizations like these help promote full participation in our communities by this valued sector of the population. I am proud to support the good work of these organizations through the New Horizons for Seniors Program so we can improve our communities and support our seniors at the same time,” Fraser said in a release.

The New Horizons for Seniors Program supports projects led or inspired by seniors who make a difference in the lives of others and in their communities.
