● Family Lego Time – Pictou library, runs all day. All are welcome.

● Card Party – Bridgevill­e Community Hall 7:30 p.m. Lunch served. Everyone welcome.

● 60th Reunion – Stellarton High School class of 1956/57. Reunion will coincide with Stellarton Homecoming.

● Auction 45s – At Trenton Legion at 1 p.m.

● Singers Songwriter­s – Laura Smith and Kim Dunn, Merigomish Schoolhous­e Community Centre, 8 p.m. Advance tickets $25 at the LBR Gas Bar, H&R Music in New Glasgow and online at eventbrite.ca or call 902-926-2116. Must be 19 or older.

● Barbecue – Yard sale and baked goods at Second Baptist Church, 330 Washington St., New Glasgow from 10 a.m.- 1 p.m.

● Karaoke – at Trenton Legion with KGB Entertainm­ent, 4-9 p.m.

● Sharon St. John Music Camp – At Sharon St. John United Church, Stellarton. Learn to play or improve your abilities with the fiddle, guitar, chanter or mandolin. ● Scott Woods Concert – at 7 p.m. at Sharon St. John United Church, 33 Acadia Avenue Stellarton. Tickets $25 for adults and $10 for children. Woods is a renowned Canadian fiddle champion.

● Artists in our Midst – 6:30-9 p.m. at Merigomish United Church, 1587 Shore Road.

● Barneys River Station School Museum – Open until August 29, noon-5 p.m. daily (closed Mondays). A building as old as Confederat­ion. Explore community and educationa­l education history in artifacts, photos, books, scrapbooks and more. Take exit 29 south off of Trans Canada 104.

Until Oct. 1

● Life of Jean – This museum installati­on visually captures the life of a Nova Scotia “every women” (19212014), revealing layers of meaning through the power of photograph­s. Free admission. Museum of Industry, 147 North Foord St., Stellarton. Open Mon.- Sat. 9-5 p.m. and Sunday 10-5 p.m.

August 5

● Old Time Dance – Toney River Community Hall, 7:30 p.m., Music by Raymond, Marlene and Lynne, Adm: $7, shared lunch.

● Car Wash Bottle Drive – Fundraiser for U16 & U18 NS Rugby Nationals Trip from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. at Scotsburn Fire Hall. Recommende­d donation $5-$10 for car wash. ● Salmon and Strawberry Shortcake Supper – at St. Paul’s Presbyteri­an Church in Merigomish, 4-6 pm. Adults $15. Children $7. Pantry Table. Takeouts available.

● Show and Sale – hosted by The Northumber­land Quilt Guild 10 a.m.-5 p.m. at the deCoste Centre, 85 Water Street, Pictou. Admission $5/person, includes light lunch.

● Giant Fabric and Yarn Sale –

Looking for Donations. Proceeds to benefit the Grandmothe­rs to Grandmothe­rs Campaign, supporting African grandmothe­rs caring for millions of children orphaned by AIDS.
