WEEKLY EVENTS Fridays

• Chase the Ace – Stellar Curling Club & RCAFA Wing 110 hall (Foord St, Stellarton), 6-8 p.m. Ticket drawn at approx. 8:20.

• Chase the Ace – River John Legion. Doors open at 6 p.m. Tickets sold 6:30-8:30 p.m. with draw at 9 p.m. Tickets three for $5, seven for $10 and 15 for $20. Must be present to win. Music by The Geezer.

• Chase the Ace – With entertainm­ent at Pictou Legion, 7:30-9:30 p.m.

• Cribbage – Westville legion, 7:30 p.m. Admission $5. Meat Darts, 8 p.m., cost $4. All welcome.

• Card Party – St Bee’s Church Hall, Westville. Doors open at 7 p.m. Cards start at 7:30 p.m. Cash prizes, plus

lunch is served.

• Knitting Circle – The Stellar Knitters, 1 p.m. at Stellarton library, novice and experience­d. Yarn and needles can be supplied or bring your own project.

• Toddle Time – 10:15-11:15 a.m., Westville Library, ages 18 months-3 years. Stories, songs, games, crafts. To register, 902-396-5022.

• Toddle Time – 10:45-11:45 a.m., Stellarton Library, 18 months- 3 years. Stories, songs, fun and games. To register, 902-755-1638. Space is limited.

• Gamers Afterschoo­l – 3-5 p.m., Westville library. Drop in for a gaming session for children ages 8-14.

• Free tax clinic – for simple, low income returns from 1 p.m.-4 p.m. at New Glasgow library. By appointmen­t only. Call (902) 755-6031.

• Pictou County Prostate Cancer Support Associatio­n – Annual General Meeting 7 p.m. in the United Commercial Travellers building behind the Summer Street Industries

on Park St., New Glasgow. A short monthly meeting will follow for the election of directors. Meeting open to the public. Wheelchair accessible. Social time to follow.

• Trenton Legion – Monthly meeting 7 p.m.

• Stellarton Legion – Monthly meeting 7:30 p.m. Members encouraged to attend.

• Pictou Library – Design your own button 1:30-2:30 p.m.; knitting for kids 3-4:30 (Maximum 10); watercolou­r birch tree painting for kids 6:30-8:30.

• Button Art – Ages 8+. Stellarton library, 902-755-1638 to register.

• Daily Crafts – Trenton library, make something to take home. Also, treasure hunt. Receive a book from Adopt-a-Library literacy program.

March 16

• Craft and Pantry Sale – Highland Square Mall starting when mall opens. Sponsored by East River Presbyteri­an Charge.

• Baby Goat Yoga – For Earth ARC at JP Gammon Centre, Scotsburn. Two sessions: 6-7 p.m. and 7:30-8:30 p.m. Cost: $15 per person per session, all proceeds to Earth ARC. Register by calling 902-754-1204 or 902-9213002. Please bring your own mat.

March 17

• St . Patrick’s Day Dance – Westville Legion, 8 p.m.-12. Live music: Allan O’Brien & Rockin Country, $7 a ticket.

• Friends of Redtail Society – Annual General Meeting 1 p.m. Keynote address at 2 p.m. with Joan Baxter, author of “The Mill” Fifty Years of Pulp and Protest, offering reflection­s since the book came out. All welcome. Location: John P. Gammon Centre, Scotsburn.
