Downtown, making some thrifty rounds

- Kathy Golemiec Hey There ... It’s Me, Kathy Kathy Golemiec is undergoing cancer treatments and writes about her experiences each week.

How was your week? Mine was another hard week, but we missed all the four last storms we were supposed to get, that was a good thing, but it sure was cold some nights.

I went to see the doctor last week and everything looked OK, although my shoulders and hands are still sore.

Vicky and I went to the healing touch Tuesday night. It is fun to go there, you meet a lot of new people, and it really helps make you feel better.

It’s upstairs in the fire hall every other Tuesday in New Glasgow and starts at 7 p.m. The next one will be April 3.

We also went to Value Village. Every Tuesday is Seniors Day and it is 30 per cent off.

Then we went to the Salvation Army thrift shop. They redid the shop, they painted and put new racks in the store and everything thing is rearranged so you can see what they have for sale.

Vicky and I went to the New Beginnings that is at Summer Street — they have very, very nice clothing and great prices.

We went to Westville Salvation Army and things are very nice.

I got a new cane. A lady at the flea market made it for me, her name is Eva. She is down close to the canteen — her and husband sells cameo gear.

It is beautiful, it was made to fit to me.

I lost two pounds this week. This is the first time in almost a year that I had to take a break through medicine the pain was so bad.

I hope you have a week, and don’t put your snow boots away yet.
