WEEKLY EVENTS Sundays

• Auction 45s – New Glasgow 50Plus Club 7:30 p.m. Open to public.

• Pictou County Fly Tyers Club – Meets 6:30-9 p.m. at the Stellarton Seniors Club building at the corner of Park Street and Acadia Avenue. All necessary instructio­ns, equipment and materials will be provided. Novice and experience­d tyers are welcomed.

• Karaoke – Westville Legion, 7 p.m.

• Meat Roll – Pictou Legion, 2 p.m. All welcome.

• Meditation – East River Meditation Centre, New Glasgow, 7 p.m. All welcome, please call ahead, 755-4325.

• Hootenanny – Stellarton legion, 6-10 p.m. $7 per person.

• Cafe and Market – Merigomish Schoolhous­e Community Centre, 10 a.m.-1 p.m. featuring a brunch and local market items for sale.

• Tea – Star of the Sea Centre after the 11:15 a.m. Stella Maris Mass. Everyone welcome.

• Dance – Stellarton legion 6-10 p.m. Cost $8 per person.

• Card Party – Auction 45s at 7 p.m. at the Meadowvill­e - Poplar Hill Community Hall. Everyone welcome.

• Drop-in Badminton – For adults at New Glasgow Academy 7:30 p.m.9:30 p.m. New members welcome.

• TOPS Group – Take Pounds Off Sensibly, non-profit organizati­on, Superstore community room, 9:3011:30 a.m.

• Mixed Darts – New Glasgow 55+ Club, 1:30 p.m., New Glasgow Fire Hall.

• Over 50 Prize Bingo – Royal Canadian Legion, New Glasgow, 1:30 p.m. Lunch served.

• Spring Scavenger Hunt – Pictou library 1:30-3:30 p.m. Search for signs of spring, win a prize. Bingo 2:30 p.m. for children and families.

• Spring Tea & Sale – Fundraiser by Blue Mountain Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary 11 a.m.-1 p.m. at the fire hall. Sandwiches, sweets, tea, coffee, pantry table, tickets for sale on a jam basket, grocery box. $7 adults, $3 children ages 5-10, children under 5 free.

• Yard Sale & Hot Lunch – St. Luke’s Presbyteri­an Church, 2216 West River Station Rd., Salt Springs, 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Also pantry table.

• Quilt Show & Tea – By Thistle Quilt Guild, Westville Civic Auditorium, 2042 Queen St., 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Door prizes, raffle tickets on quilt. Admission $5. Wheelchair accessible.

• Yard Sale – Pictou SPCA shelter at 3504 Granton Rd. 9 a.m.-2 p.m. Also BBQ, chase the ace tickets and 50/50 tickets available. Treats such as candied apples and fudge!

• Perennial Plant Sale – Sponsored by the New Glasgow and Area Highland Garden Club, at the New Glasgow’s Farmers Market. Morning until sold out. Very reasonable prices. Free advice.

• Roast Pork Supper – St. Luke’s United Church, Salt Springs, 4-6 p.m. Adults $12, children $6. Takeouts and bake table available.

• Post Royal Wedding Coffee Party – Sponsored by Little Harbour Ladies Auxiliary at Little Harbour Fire Hall 10 a.m.-12. Admission $5. 50/50, new to you, purses, scarves & jewellery. Royal wedding attire optional.

• Old Time Dance – West Branch Community Hall 7 p.m. Music by The MacKinnons plus Marilyn, Alvin and Tracy; Roger Simm, calling. Lunch served, shared sweets. Admission $7.

• Plant & Bake Sale – Hosted by Westville Gardening Club in the parking lot of the Holy Name Catholic Church. Selling begins at 9 a.m.

until sold out! Large assortment. Proceeds to purchase plants for the Town of Westville flower beds as well as a plaque for our sculpture in Acadia Park.

• Annual Colossal Yard Sale – Bluenose Curling Club, 9-11:30 a.m. Admission $2. Sporting goods, furniture, textiles, toys, games, books, clothing, housewares, appliances, tools, Christmas items, lawn & garden equipment.

May 27

• MS Walk – Glasgow Square, New Glasgow, 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Step up to end MS.

• Crown the Queen – Jackpot over $33,000. Advance tickets: Summer Street Industries, Fas Gas, Tip Top Tailors, Cross Roads Country Market, Cornish’s and East End Grocery, also Sundays at Summer Street Industries 1:30-3:30 pm. Draw 4 p.m. You don’t have to be present to win. In support of Summer St Industries, Kinsmen and Kinettes.

• Karaoke – Trenton Legion with KGB Ent. 3-9 p.m.

• Pictou County Ostomy Support Group – Meets in the Boardroom, first floor, Aberdeen Hospital 2-4 p.m.

May 28

• Cemetery Annual General meeting – 7 p.m. at Barneys River Presbyteri­an Church hall. All lot holders and those interested are encouraged to attend.

• Prize Bingo – 7 p.m. at West River Fire Hall. Bake table, 50/50, door prizes, lunch and more. Proceeds to Crohn’s and Colitis.

May 29

• Women Together – Pictou County Women’s Resource Centre 1011:30 a.m. All about Service Canada.

• Gamers Drop-in – New Glasgow library 3:30-4:30 p.m. Ages 8-12.
