George “Wayne” Callahan age 74 of New Glasgow, Nova Scotia passed away peacefully on Friday, October 12th,2018 in the Aberdeen Hospital, surrounded by his loving family. Born in New Glasgow, Nova Scotia on April 30, 1944 he was a son of the late John and Irene (Tanner) Callahan and the husband of 50 years to his loving wife Ella (MacNeil) Callahan (deceased March 27th, 2018). Wayne was a welder at the former Hawker Siddeley later known as Trenton Works. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and spending time with his family and friends. Surviving are his brother Roger Callahan of New Glasgow and sister Sharon (George Gunton) of Dunnville, Ont.; sisters and brothers-in-law, Linda Callahan, New Glasgow; Fayne MacNeil, Hamilton Ont.; Norma MacKenzie, New Glasgow; Newman (Carol) MacNeil, Halifax; Anthony (Carol) MacNeil, Stoney Creek, Ont.; Mary (Reg) Jorden, Scotsburn. Many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews, and many cousins Besides his parents and the love of his life his wife Ella he was predecease­d by his father and mother -in-law Bernie and Bertha (Betts) MacNeil, sister Marg, brother -in-law Jim Chambers, brother Johnny Callahan, sisters- inlaw Kay Hill, Bernice Duff, brothers-in-law Bernie MacNeil and Frank and his wife Nilda MacNeil; also by nieces and nephews, Kevin MacNeil, Greg Chambers, John Paul MacNeil, Brenda MacKenzie, Sharron Hill and Eddie Duff. Cremation has taken place. there will be no visitation or service by request. Arrangemen­ts have been entrusted to the H.W. Angus Funeral Home, New Glasgow.
