Monday Music welcomes back Niki Venoit
Monday Music in Alma’s fall monthly concert series continues Nov. 5 with a Nov. 5 concert featuring a busy local musician.
Niki Venoit was on the stage in Alma last August when she charmed the audience with her big voice, energy and obvious love of music.
She has certainly spent the year sharing that love of music — singing on the P.E.I. ferry, in local bars and restaurants, at private events, weddings and, most recently, she has been performing with the Pink Floyd Tribute Band: Momentary Lapse with performances in Pictou County a handful of times, but also on the road to places such as Truro, Yarmouth, Moncton, Liverpool and soon in the Halifax area.
During her performances, she presents a large variety of genres with her own spin on them. She tends to play a lot of upbeat songs but also likes to throw in a few slower, heartfelt ones as well to change it up. Some of her personal
favourites are the “oldies” — classics from the 1970s.
When she was asked what the audience can expect, Venoit said, “At the concert, the audience can expect a total acoustic show, as I am choosing to go ‘unplugged’ as I did last time. I enjoy filling the room with the sound of my guitar and voice stripped of microphones and speakers. This is very rare for me as most venues require these things but, I especially love this venue for that reason — I do not need the bells and whistles! I will also be inviting a couple of special guests to join me for some songs, and hope to involve the audience in some sing-alongs.”
Niki Venoit will be performing in Alma on Nov. 5.
