What’s in a name?

New Glasgow Mazda dealership asks community’s help with rename

-

Out with the old and in with the new, but Target Mazda isn’t referring to cars on the lot.

In January 2019, the dealership, which has been operating as Target Mazda for 32 years, will have a new name on the door — one that’s been submitted by a Pictou County resident.

“We’re so excited to be here in New Glasgow and I really wanted to share that excitement with the community, and that’s how the idea of the contest began,” explains Ben Smith, owner of Target Mazda, Truro Mazda and Atlantic Mazda.

To enter, residents can visit NameOurStore.com and submit their idea, along with a contact number, so the winner can be reached.

“These types of contests don’t come around too often,” says Smith. “The winner of this contest will see our big Mazda sign featuring their idea, and it will give that person bragging rights for life.”

Additionally, the author of the winning submission will receive an Apple iPad valued at $430.

The contest will run from Nov. 1 to Jan. 4, with the winning idea being announced on Jan. 18.

“The entire staff is excited to see what the public comes up with. I predict it will be difficult to choose only one winner,” Smith said.

Target Mazda is the oldest Mazda dealership in Atlantic Canada. It was opened on Dec. 1, 1986.

There is no limit per person for entries into this contest.
