SILVER Gor­don Alexan­der

Age 88 of Dart­mouth for­merly of Mount Wil­liam passed away on Sun­day, De­cem­ber 2, 2018 in The Ad­mi­ral Long Term Care Cen­tre, Dart­mouth. Born in Mount Wil­liam, on Novem­ber 24,1930, he was a son of the late Wil­liam B. and Mar­garet J. (Wat­ters) Silver. Gor­don was a plas­terer by trade and later a civil drafts­man with the Nova Scotia De­part­ment of High­ways. He en­joyed hunt­ing and fish­ing and was an avid gar­dener. He loved spend­ing time in the woods and feed­ing ev­ery bird, squir­rel, and stray cat that crossed his path. He en­joyed play­ing and watch­ing hockey and earned mul­ti­ple belt lev­els in Karate. Gor­don was well known by all for his dry wit and wry sense of hu­mor...He will be dearly missed by his wife Mar­garet (Langille), daugh­ter Brenda Preeper, East­ern Pas­sage, son Robert (Au­drey), East­ern Pas­sage; grand­chil­dren: Ja­son Silver (Aimee), Hal­i­fax, Kelly, Paris, France, Brian, Hal­i­fax, Scott, St.Jean, Que­bec, and great grand­sons, El­liott and Felix Silver. He is sur­vived by one brother, Al­lis­ter, Salt Springs and two sis­ters: Sue Ince (Doug), Stel­lar­ton and Joan Fer­gu­son (Alonzo), Mount Wil­liam, nu­mer­ous nieces, neph­ews and cousins. Gor­don was pre­de­ceased by broth­ers, Wil­liam, Les­lie, David and Ken­neth, and sis­ters, Cather­ine MacKen­zie, Ernes­tine Cord­ing­ley and Char­lotte Tam­bellini. Gor­don is rest­ing at Ea­gles Funeral Home, Westville with vis­it­ing on Fri­day, Dec.7th from 10-11 am fol­lowed by his funeral ser­vice at 11 o’clock, the Rev. Greg Dick­son of­fi­ci­at­ing. Burial will take place at Heatherdale Me­mo­rial Gar­dens, Hwy 6, Sylvester. Re­cep­tion to fol­low at St An­drews Church Hall, Westville.
