THORBURN, N.S. — The Peewee A Crushers defeated West Colchester in both of their minor hockey games last weekend.

On Saturday in Thorburn, they skated away with a 6–2 win. Scoring for the Crushers were Griffin Horton (2), Jack MacNeil (2), Cole Bryden and Thomas Hillier. Assists went to Caden Hawes, Blake Misener and Ethan Barker. Austin Swain recorded the win.

On Sunday in Debert, the Crushers ran into a goaltenders’ duel in a back-and-forth contest. The Crushers pulled ahead on the power play late in the game to go ahead 3–2, then with a Crusher in the penalty box, West Colchester pulled its goaltender for an extra attacker but to no avail as Bryden grabbed a loose puck and buried it into the open net for his second goal of the game. Also scoring for the Crushers were Griffin Horton and Blake Misener with assists coming off the sticks of Leland Tobin and Chris Jorden. Noah Larade-MacDonald played a strong game between the pipes for the Crushers.

The Crushers play Antigonish in a home-and-home series next weekend.
