TRENTON — A new year can be a time for a re-birth.

The Pictou County Scotians, who ended the month of December by losing four straight games (two each to the Strait Pirates and Antigonish Bulldogs), will look to put the latter stages of 2018 behind them as they resume their Nova Scotia Junior Hockey League schedule this coming weekend.

The Scotians (11-8) are in fourth place in the Sid Rowe Division, just two points behind the Bulldogs (12-9), who will visit Trenton rink on Jan. 6 (game time is 6 p.m.)

With 13 games left in the regular season, the Scotians have thus far been led offensively by Logan Vande Meerakker (4G, 26A) Jeremy McFarlane (18G, 11A) and Jacob Pentz (19G, 9A).
