Nighthawks hosting tourney this weekend

WESTVILLE, N.S. — The NRHS Nighthawks boys’ hockey team will host the 12th annual Danny Dorrington Memorial Tournament this weekend.

The Nighthawks will begin the tournament Thursday at 7 p.m., with a game against Dr. J.H. Gillis Royals. The NRHS then has a Friday morning game (11:45 a.m.) against the Strait Area Education and Recreation Centre, while the NNEC Gryphons play at 3:15 p.m. against École Secondaire de Clare. The Nighthawks and Gryphons will resume their Pictou County rivalry with a 7:15 p.m. game on Friday.

Other teams taking part include West Kings, and École Secondaire de Par-en-Bas, from the Yarmouth area.

The semifinal games will start Saturday at 6:45 p.m., with the championship game scheduled for Sunday at 1 p.m. All games will be played at Westville rink.
