Bonnie Brae 1903
The above plaque with heading Bonnie Brae 1903 is located on the wall facing Mountain Road of the present Porter’s Funeral Home. Bonnie Brae was the name given to Thomas Cantley’s residence built in 1903. Cantley later served as a member of the Senate of Canada from 1935 to his death in 1945. This photo and information were first published in a book by Clyde Macdonald and Philip MacKenzie on dated buildings and structures in New Glasgow. It is republished with their permission.
