Fundy Highland bantams win regular-season banner

WESTVILLE ROAD, N.S. — The Fundy Highland bantam A female hockey team had a busy weekend, playing their last final three games of the regular season and earning the title of league champs.

On Feb. 16, they travelled to Antigonish where they defeated the Bulldogs 3-2. Scoring for Fundy Highland was Olivia Marks with an unassisted goal, Mallory Sangster, assisted by Raleigh MacDonald, and Taylor Toole, assisted by Marks. Kylee Alexander played in net.

The next day, they faced Colchester at Hector Arena in Pictou, defeating them by a score of 5-1. Scoring for Fundy Highland was Lucia Mason (2), Alyssa Ells, MacDonald and Toole. Assists by Marks (2), Sangster and Taylor DeCoste. Myah Ernst got the win goal.

In their final game of the regular season at the Pictou County Wellness Centre on Feb. 18, they faced Metro East Inferno Gold from Dartmouth and collected a 3-1 win. Scoring for Fundy Highland were Marks, Mason and Maggie MacLean. Assists by MacLean, Natasha Hahn and Mason. Alexander got credit for the victory in net.

The girls return to the ice on Sunday at Hector Arena in Pictou for their first game in the playoffs.
