Daycare affected by proximity of sex offender

-

The owner of Bumble Bee Child Care centre in Three Mile Plains is speaking out about her business being affected after a convicted sex offender was released on house arrest on the street where she operates.

Jackie Sexton says she’s losing revenue, clients and is under extreme stress since Eddie Henshaw has been released.

“I’m losing revenue and I’m losing clients,” she said. “I’ve been unable to get new clients because of this situation.”

She alleges Henshaw harassed her, a parent and children that were with them as they walked to the bus stop on the morning of Feb. 7. The incident was reported to the police.

The two recorded the encounter on their phones, and part of the encounter was shared on social media.

“I felt intimidated, and I get that’s what he’s trying to do,” she said.

Sexton said Bumble Bee Child Care and her home is about 80 metres away from where Henshaw now resides.
