Pictou County pro boxer Brody Blair hosting Canada vs. Mexico card
Brody Blair will host a card in Pictou County this month that will feature bouts between fighters from Canada and Mexico.
NEW GLASGOW, N.S. – Boxer Brody Blair is ready to enter the ring again and hopes to be surrounded by familiar faces when he does.
On March 30, Blair will host Boxing Night in Canada Round
2 at the Pictou County Wellness Centre, an event similar to the one he hosted in April 2018, where he and several other boxers competed before a large Pictou County audience.
Blair, 28, is undefeated in his pro career, most recently fighting in Halifax where he improved his record to 4-0 in a unanimous decision over a tough opponent.
Already Blair has five fights lined up for this year’s event and is working to secure a sixth.
The card will feature a lineup of Canadian-versus-Mexican opponents.
Blair said he enjoys boxing in front of a home audience – something he wasn’t able to do much in his time as an amateur.
“It’s so nice to be able to do this out of home,” he said.
While his priority is training for the fight, Blair is also involved behind the scenes getting the event organized. He said sponsorship is coming along well and a matchmaker has found opponents from Mexico who fall in the right experience and weight categories to make for good fights.
“Pictou County is so supportive for their own,” he said of the backing he’s received for the event.
In addition to the fights, the night will feature Ashley George and Hayley MacLeod singing during intermission. DJ Foxy will be playing throughout the event and Sound Source Pro Audio will provide audio and lights.

For his part Blair, believes he’s ready to win again.
