Peewee C Steelers roll to another tournament win

PORT HAWKESBURY, N.S. – The Trenton Peewee C Steelers captured their third banner of the season, going 4-0 in the Port Hawkesbury March break tournament.

Not only did they win the tournament, they remain unbeaten all season with a record of 46-0-1. Their season ended with 343 goals for and only 66 against.

The Steelers started off defeating Cape Breton County 11-0. Scoring for the Steelers were Jake Maloney and Seth Francis, both with hat tricks, Ethan MacKay (2), Jesse Arbuckle, Landon Martin and Ethan Francis. Assists came from Aiden Trowell (2), Tyson Barteaux, Seth Francis, Maloney and MacKay. Player of the game went to Trowell.

The Steelers then went on to defeat Straight Richmond 15-2. Scoring for the Steelers were Ethan MacKay, with five goals, Jake Maloney had four, Seth Francis and Landon Martin each had two, MacFarlane and Cole MacGregor added singles. Assists went to MacKay (4), Martin (3), Ross Swinamer (3), Seth Francis (2), Ethan Francis, Cole MacGregor and Maloney. Player of the game went to MacFarlane.

Next, they defeated Baddeck 6-1. Ethan MacKay and Maloney both had a pair of goals, while Martin and Tyson Barteaux notched singles. Assists came from Seth Francis, Maloney, Trowell, Barteaux, Swinamer and MacKay. Player of the game went to Carter Lennon.

In the final, the Steelers stomped Baddeck 12-2. Leading Trenton was MacKay, with four goals, while Maloney had a hat trick, Seth Francis had two and Martin, Trowell and Lennon added singles.

Assists came from MacKay (3), MacGregor (2), MacFarlane and Seth Francis. Player of the game was goaltender Derrick MacKay, who allowed five goals all tournament. The tournament MVP was Ethan MacKay.
