• Art in the Hall 5 – until March 29. This is the latest in a series of rotating installati­ons of art by Pictou County artists. Curated by the Art At Large Collective, this show features works by known and unknown student artists from Northumber­land High School are interspers­ed with thought-provoking art by Janet Wallace and Joan Krawzyck. Anchored by the large canvases of Wallace and Krawzyck, the art left behind when students moved on represents a variety of media and topics. Free admission to view the show. • Gamblers Anonymous – Gamblers Anonymous meeting held every Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. at the Trinity United Church, 151 Temperance Street, New Glasgow, N.S. (side door by office). Do you or someone you know have a gambling problem? Want to stop? We can help!

• Karaoke Night – at RCL Branch 35, Westville, Sunday nights with Kerry Williams from 7:30 – 11 p.m. Admission is $2/person.

• Classic Country Music Jam – every Tuesday at Lourdes Hall, 6:30 to 9 p.m. Light lunch served, 50/50 draw. $5 at the door no fee for players. For more informatio­n contact Bernie McCarron, (902) 928-0426.

• Stellarton Legion Chase the Ace – weekly Friday Nights at 9 p.m. Tickets for sale daily in the lounge up to 8:30 pm on Friday. Tickets $5 for 4. You do not need to be present to win.

• Jam Session- All singers, players, toe tappers and hummers are welcome at the jam sessions in the Durham Community Hall Wednesday evenings 7-9 p.m. Shared lunch. Silver collection.

• Weekly Music Circle Café Jam – Wednesdays 6:30 - 9:30 p.m. at West Branch Hall. Admission for players is free, listeners free will, $2.50 suggested. Limited kitchen. Proceeds; Community Hall. Shared sweets.

• Kid’s section – Lego Builders Club at the Museum of Industry Stellarton, Tuesdays 3 to 4 p.m. Ages

5 & older. Free admission, no preregistr­ation required.

• Karaoke Talent Contest – hosted by Br 28 Stellarton Legion on Friday nights during their regular Karaoke show beginning Feb. 1. A one-time entrance fee of $10 is due your first night. Sign up sheet is at the Legion the next two Fridays or you can join in up until the sixth week when 12 finalists are chosen. Two singers advance each week by popular vote. The last four contestant­s will be judged by a panel of three from the local music scene. Prize is $ 500 to the winner. • Fly Tying – The Pictou County Fly Tyers meet at the Stellarton Seniors Club at the corner of Acadia Avenue and Park Street (opposite the Nova Scotia Community College), 6:30-9 p.m. Sundays. Equipment and materials will be provided. All beginner, novice and experience­d fly tyers are welcome.

• Photograph­y Course – Pictou Recreation and Parks is now accepting registrati­on for an 8 week Photograph­y Course with Instructor Len Cheverie. This course is for anyone wanting to have a better understand­ing of the basics of photograph­y. Classes are held on Tuesdays beginning March 26 from 7-9 p.m. at the McCulloch Education Centre. • Pictou County Prostate Cancer Support Associatio­n – will hold their Annual General Meeting on at 7 P.M. in the United Commercial Travellers building behind Summer Street Industries on Park Street New Glasgow. A short monthly meeting will follow for the election of directors for the upcoming year. The meeting is open to the public and all are invited to attend. The building is wheelchair accessible. A social time will follow.

• Bake & Craft Sale – at Highland Square Mall, starting when Mall opens. Sponsored by East River Pastoral Charge Managers.

March 23

• Old Time Dance – 7:30 p.m. at West Branch Community Hall. Music by The MacKinnons plus Marilyn, Alvin and Tracy; Roger Simm, calling. Lunch served, shared sweets. Admission $7.

• Friends of Redtail Society – will hold their Annual General Meeting at 1 p.m. at the JP Gammon Community Hall in Scotsburn, N.S. The business meeting is from 1:00 -1:50 p.m. and the Circle of Support starts at 2 - 3:15 p.m. The Circle of Support is for the closure of Boat Harbour and the remediatio­n of the 350 acre tidal estuary ecosystem. Members of the Pictou Landing First Nations community, residents of Pictou Landing and the general public are invited to share their perspectiv­e as the community looks toward the time when the area known as A’se’k to the Pictou Landing First Nations will no longer be an industrial waste lagoon.
