• Card Party – Every Monday night at 7:30 p.m. (45s played), at Odd Fellows Hall Westville. Lunch • Amateur Ball Hockey – Friday nights all summer long, 6-8 p.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 384 Abercrombie Road, New Glasgow. Assorted sticks provided if required. • Silver Dart Collection – A unique collection of watercolour paintings of Cape Breton scenes assembled together for the first time. The Silver Dart collection was commissioned from well-known Nova Scotia artist Joseph Purcell (1927-2018) for the innovative Silver Dart Motel, built on the shores of the Bras d’Or Lakes in Baddeck in 1960. The inspiration behind this collection allows us to explore the tourism industry at that time. Until Oct. 31, at the Museum of Industry, Stellarton.
• Jam Sessions – at the Durham Community Hall every Wednesday from 7-9 p.m. Shared lunch. Silver collection. All welcome. • Employability Skills Workshops – for youth held at Roots House Wednesdays from 4 p.m. - 5:30 p.m. Workshops are for any youth aged 16 - 24. Topics include: Interview Skills, Conflict Resolution, Communication, Dressing for Success, and many more.
• Lego Builders Club – Tuesdays 3 to 4 p.m. at Museum of Industry, Stellarton. Ages 5 and older. Drop in to build, invent and create with Lego, including special projects featuring gears, machines, and mechanisms. Free admission, no pre-registration required.
• Service Discontinued – Zone 6, Royal Canadian Legion is discontinuing its annual County Memorial Service held on the Sunday preceding Remembrance Day. All branches will continue to hold a service Nov. 11 at their local cenotaphs.
• Hunters Breakfast – Saturdays Oct. 26- Dec. 14 at Springville Church Hall, 6:30-10 a.m. October 17 • Prize Bingo – at Valley View Villa at 7 p.m. All proceeds will go to recreation programming. • Federal Retirees Meeting – Abercrombie Fire Hall, 2 p.m. Special Guest Speaker. Social to follow. Open to All Federal Retirees.
• Monthly Meeting – of the Pictou County Prostate Cancer Support Association will be held at 7 p.m. in the UCT Building behind Summer Street Ind on Park Street, New Glasgow. The public is invited to attend. The building is wheelchair accessible. A social time will follow.

• Music with Dennis and Bud – at Trenton Legion, 8:30 p.m. until close. • Family Round and Square
Dance – at St. Mary’s Parish Hall Hwy 245 Maryvale, Antigonish Co. from 9 p.m.-12 a.m. Music provided by Mike Hall and Marion Dewar. Admission: $10. Children 12 and under free when accompanied by an adult. Tea and sweets provided.
• Songs of WWII – 90 minute musical event featuring Sgt. Wilson’s Airforce Show from Almelo, Holland. This will be their only performance in Nova Scotia during their Canadian tour. 7 p.m. at New Glasgow Legion, 39 N. • Women Alike Group Meeting
– at Glen Haven Manor at 7 p.m. Guest speaker will be Mary Jean Campbell and Bubba. This is a meeting for breast cancer survivors. There will be a few snacks provided at the end.
• Bridge to Success is back – PiCCoLA (the Pictou County Continuous Learning Association) is once again offering our 30-week, full time program designed to help persons identify skills required in seeking employment or further educational opportunities. • Garden Club Meeting - Meeting of the New Glasgow and Area Highland Garden Club, 7 p.m. at Glen Haven Manor, Bluenose Dock room (rear entrance). Jean Power will be demonstrating the art of making hand stitched cards. Potential new members always welcomed.

• Plaid Marquee – will offer the period piece, All Is True, at 7 p.m. at Cineplex Theaters, New Glasgow. Starring Kenneth Branagh, Judi Dench and Ian MacKellen, the drama is a retelling of Shakespeare’s later life. Doors at 6:30 p.m. Admission $10.
• Benefit Pot Luck Supper – for Ellen MacDonald, 4-6 p.m. at the Springville Church Hall. Cost, adults $10. and children 12 and under $5.
