Burt Ward, best known for his portrayal of Robin in the 196668 television series Batman, will make an appearance at this June’s Niagara Falls Comic Con.

“This will be a real treat for me as it will be the first time I have ever been to Niagara Falls,” said Ward from his home in California. “I’m looking forward to meeting all the great fans in Niagara, and hopefully, taking in some sights.”

The event is scheduled for June 9 at the Scotiabank Convention Centre.

At the age of 20, Ward auditioned for the part of Robin. After beating out more than 1,100 youth for the part, Ward was cast alongside Adam West in the title role.

The two would go on to

First airing as a mid-season replacement, Batman took the ratings — and world — by storm with its vivid colours and larger- than- life villains, played by some of the biggest names in Hollywood.

The series went on to produce 120 episodes and a full- length feature film. The show still airs in 50 countries.

Along with a meet-and-greet with fans at the convention, organizers are planning a question- and- answer session with Ward.

There will be a screening of Batman. The famous Batmobile will be alongside Ward. Visitors will be able to get their picture taken inside the vehicle. Ticket information for the Q&A session will be on www.nfcomiccon.com in the coming weeks.

Ward will join other celebrities at the convention, including: Hollywood horror writer and producer John Russo; Dustin “Screech” Diamond; Jessie Sulidis f rom t he Bachelor and Bachelor Pad; Chandler Riggs from The Walking Dead; as well as World Wrestling Entertainment legends Brutus “The Barber” Beefcake, Greg “The Hammer” Valentine, and Leaping Lanny Poffo.

Organizers are expected to announce a Star Trek- related appearance in the near future.
