Deadmau5 blasts model over shooting joke
Falls dance music superstar opines on Twitter
Less than two weeks after making headlines for his online outburst against burglars who ransacked his mother’s Niagara Falls home, electronic music superstar deadmau5 once again took to social media to voice his displeasure about another issue — this time directing his frustration towards Playboy model Tricia Evans.
The Grammy- nominated house music producer, who is originally from Niagara Falls, took exception Friday to an Evans tweet about The Dark Knight Rises being a movie “to die for,” which many felt was an insensitive joke about the Colorado theatre shooting that left 12 people dead and 58 wounded.
“I heard the new Batman movie is really “to die for”! Too soon?” tweeted Evans, under the Twitter name HollywoodTricia.
Deadmau5, whose r ea l name is Joel Zimmerman, replied with: “good to know. @ HollywoodTricia i seriously had no idea how big of a piece of ... you are. unfollowed.”
The playmate responded with: @deadmau5 Listen, apparently I have a different opinion than u. That doesn’t make me a piece of ...”
Aside from the exchanges between deadmau5, who is known for his candidness on social media websites, and Evans, who describes herself as a “controversial tweeter” in her biography, people swamped Twitter to attack the playmate, many lacing their comments with swear words and ill wishes against Evans.
Deadmau5’s heated interaction with Evans followed his Facebook vow of revenge on thieves who entered his mother’s property in Niagara Falls and took her personal possessions.
In a post on his Facebook page July 8, he wrote: “Wow. a couple of dumb** ses in Niagara Falls broke into my mothers house, ransacked it, slashed her paintings and stole a TV ... etc and basically trashed the house.
“Man, you a** holes picked the wrong house. ( my mom’s OK, she wasn’t there)... mau5 is gunna (sic) find you.”
