Victoria Harvey hasn’t entered a plea in court to her first-degree murder charge, but her lawyer says she is innocent.

“When she enters a plea, it will be not guilty,” Anthony Robbins said outside court in St. Catharines Thursday. “She didn’t plan a murder.” Harvey, 20, is one of four people charged with the firstdegree murder of Alex Fraser. She made a brief appearance in bail court via video link from the Vanier Centre for Women correctional institute in Milton.

Details of the bail hearing are subject to a publication ban and cannot be reported.

Fraser, 49-year-old Niagara Falls man, vanished without a trace on Boxing Day when his burning car was discovered near the

a Niagara River in Fort Erie. The Niagara Regional Police dive unit began searching the hydro canal near the Welland River in January, but had to put the search on hold in February due to bitter temperatures and icy conditions.

On March 17 around 6 p.m., police recovered Fraser’s body from the Sir Adam Beck Generating Stations in Niagara Falls.

Harvey, along with Brad MacGarvie, 25, Thomas Nagy, 25, and Duran Wilson, 29, all of Niagara Falls are charged with Fraser’s murder. MacGarvie, Nagy and Wilson are being held at the Niagara Detention Centre.

Robbins said Harvey has been subpoenaed to testify as a witness at preliminary hearings for MacGarvie, Nagy and Wilson. They are scheduled to take place Aug. 5.

Fraser, a father of two, grew up in Hamilton and had lived in Niagara Falls for a number of years.
