Here’s some of what councillors had to say about 2017
Carolynn Ioannoni
“I think public engagement this past year has been phenomenal at all levels, not just at city hall, but at the Region, at groups … like the (Niagara Peninsula Conservation Authority). People are paying attention now.”
Wayne Thomson
“Certainly the major issue is, in my opinion, the step further with the hospital. We really need a new hospital, and I think the location is extremely good.”
Joyce Morocco
“When I look back, I think we did the best we possibly could do. We’re constantly trying to bring more jobs. That’s kind of our goal, so we’re trying to stay on track. I think we’ve hit some good achievements.”
Wayne Campbell
“I’m pleased to see the regional transportation issue moving forward. I think that’s going to play a significant role in the future with respect to the working population.”
Kim Craitor
“I know we’re spending a lot of money, but there’s so much work that has to be done for infrastructure. I go out and visit the people, so I see their basements flooded. We’re putting all these new developments, which I guess is a great thing, and they’re getting firstclass roads and firstclass sewer systems, but … I think we’ve got spend more time helping … the existing residents.”
