The Niagara Falls Review

A message from the Executive Director of the South Niagara Chambers

-

Happy New Year! I hope everyone has had an opportunity to slow down, catch your breath, and enjoy some time with family and friends! As a new year begins we look forward with excitement and anticipation at what it will bring.

Our team has been working hard to ensure we bring back some favorite programs and events, as well as developing some new initiatives to meet the ever changing needs of our members. In 2017 we introduced our South Niagara Joint BA5s, which brought hundreds of people together to experience a different level of networking. These were so successful that we will add one more joint BA5 to our schedule for 2018. Of course our local community BA5s will still occur throughout the year as well.

Our New Members Breakfasts are always well received and we plan to continue with these, with one change! These too will become joint South Niagara events. Each quarter the breakfast will be hosted by one of our 4 Chambers, providing our newest members with an opportunity to network with a larger group right off the hop!

This year we will also be launching our webinar series. The third Tuesday of the month, from 12:00 p.m. to 1 p.m., we will be live streaming a presentation which will provide our members and their staff with the opportunity to gain knowledge on relevant topics. The best part is that you can participate from the comfort of your own office. No travel time and no cost! We have made it as simple as possible for members to continue to educate themselves and their staff!

As many of you know by now we launched NiagaraGiftCards.com just in time for the holiday season! The response was fantastic! If you are a member who is looking for affordable digital exposure, it doesn’t get much easier than this! If you are a “shop local’ advocate, then again, it doesn’t get much easier than this!

Of course we won’t get through 2018 without hosting a political debate or two. We are working with various partners to ensure that we provide our members with the best possible opportunity to ask questions and learn about the candidates.

Our partnerships with the Niagara USA Chamber of Commerce and the Toronto Tianjin Business Associations are stronger than ever, and our members will continue to enjoy the benefits of these relationships. We have a few new partnerships that we will be announcing this year as well!

Our Board of Directors and staff are eager to get things going, so make sure you read your What’s Up Wednesday! Looking forward to seeing you all soon!
