KIRKPATRICK STONEWORKS CARRIES ON THE LEGACY OF RIGG MOONEY MONUMENTS.

-

It’s been a year since Kirkpatrick Stoneworks (Monuments) purchased Rigg Mooney Monuments and moved from their Drummond Rd. location into the old Rigg location at 4605 Queen St. in downtown Niagara Falls. Celebrating their first full year there, Kirkpatrick Monuments, a locally owned family business, is proud to continue the legacy of traditional monument building.

After over 40 years building monuments, Bruce and Diane Mooney decided it was time to hang up their sandblast hoses and retire. When it came time to pass the torch and entrust their heritage, Kirkpatrick Monuments was undoubtedly their only choice. The Rigg name has a long history in Niagara, having been established in 1897. When Kirkpatrick Monuments acquired the business and relocated to the old historic building on Queen Street, they felt a few upgrades were in order. “We consider ourselves traditionalists, history matters to us, therefore we tried to keep the “old” feel of the building by leaving most of the interior beams in place while we built around them,” says Mike Law, owner of Kirkpatrick Monuments.

From modest beginnings in 1929, in a small shop in Fonthill, Kirkpatrick Monuments has grown and spread throughout the Niagara Region, Haldimand and Norfolk Counties, with 7 convenient locations to serve the memorial needs of area families.

They were honoured to be selected by Rock of Ages, (the largest Canadian owned granite manufacturer in North America), as the region’s exclusive “Authorized Retailer” of their distinguished line of seal mark memorials. This gives them access to the small percentage of the stone quarried that meets the stringent quality standards necessary to carry the Rock of Ages seal mark. In addition, this means that only they can offer a perpetual warranty, maintained by an independent trust, giving families peace of mind for generations to come. “If it doesn’t have a Rock of Ages seal carved on it, it’s not a Rock of Ages seal mark memorial.” Serving the communities of Niagara and beyond has been a privilege for Kirkpatrick Monuments. Helping families through building memorials with lasting beauty and longevity in mind that express love, respect and honour is the cornerstone of their heritage.

Kirkpatrick Monuments 4605 Queen St. (Rigg Mooney Branch) Kirkpatrick Monuments welcomes the opportunity to serve those who need them and encourage people to stop in and see their newly renovated showroom. They would like to take this opportunity to express their gratitude to families who have put their trust and confidence in them over the years.
