ATS buys technology for high-speed assembly

-

CAMBRIDGE — ATS Automation Tooling Systems says it has acquired most of the intellectual property assets of Transformix Engineering. The Cambridgebased company said it paid $10 million for the assets. It said the technology from Kingston-based Transformix provides a method of linking and synchronizing the movements of devices and tooling, allowing faster and more efficient assembly systems. ATS, a manufacturer of factory automation systems, said the technology is suitable for any assembly operation where high precision motion control is required.
