Robbery suspect faces weapons, drug charges for December crimes

A suspect has been arrested nearly a month after a woman was assaulted and robbed near the intersecti­on of Page and Queenston streets, in St. Catharines.

Niagara Regional Police say the arrest was made as a result of their investigat­ion into a report of a woman who sustained minor injuries and had personal property stolen at about 10:25 a.m., Dec. 15.

At about 7:45 a.m. Thursday, police arrested Jhon Flores, 23, of St.Catharines, charging him with robbery.

Police say at the time of his arrest, the suspect was carrying suspected illegal drugs as well as an imitation firearm concealed in his waistband — leading to additional charges including several weapons-related charges, and possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000, possession of cocaine and crystal methamphet­amine for the purpose of traffickin­g, and breach of probation.
