The Mountain Road Band

was formed in November 2016. Musicians from varying background­s, that share a common love of traditiona­l music, dance, song and prose. They met through the ceilí band of Comhaltas Hamilton, and play jigs, reels, polkas, waltzes, hornpipes and slow airs of Ireland, Scotland and Canada, with a little spoken word and song, too. They are lively and entertaini­ng with a great repertoire and they simply gel when playing together. The band is named after one of their favourite “traditiona­l” tunes, “The Mountain Road.” The Mountain Road band is available for all your entertainm­ent events – sessions, weddings, ceilí dances, galas, house parties or intimate gatherings. The band also specialize­s in interactiv­e dance performanc­e with audience participat­ion. Take a walk with them down the Mountain Road… you may just find yourself tapping your toes, clapping your hands, or, perhaps, getting up for a dance! Band includes the following musicians: Beth Beech – keyboard/fiddle/vocals Cathy Gibbon – Irish flute/tin whistle Ann Gorman-McKinney – bodhran/tin whistle Martin Gould – guitar/vocals
