YourTV hosting provincial debates for all Niagara ridings
Candidate talks will debut next week online and on TV
Niagara voters can tune in next week to find out what candidates from their provincial riding think about the issues on YourTV.
The Cogeco station will be airing debates from Niagara Centre, Niagara Falls, Niagara West and St. Catharines on YourTV, Cable 700 and Epico 100.
Candidates from the four parties currently represented in the Ontario legislature have been invited to participate in the debate, with other contenders asked to submit videos introducing themselves.
The debate for Niagara Centre, which includes Welland, Port Colborne, Thorold and a southern part of St. Catharines, will premiere on Tuesday, May 17, at 7 p.m. The debate will be repeated on Saturday, May 21, at 12:30 p.m.; Monday, May 23, at 7:30 p.m. and Saturday, May 28, at 2 p.m.
Niagara Falls riding, which includes the city, Fort Erie and Niagara-on-the-Lake, will also debut on Tuesday, May 17, at 8:30 p.m. Repeats will air on Saturday, May 21, at 2 p.m.; Tuesday, May 24, at 7 p.m. and Saturday, May 28, at 12:30 p.m.
Niagara West, which includes Grimsby, Lincoln, Pelham, Wainfleet, West Lincoln and a slice of St. Catharines, will premiere Thursday, May 19, at 7 p.m. Residents can catch the repeats on Saturday, May 21, at 3:30 p.m.; Tuesday, May 24, at 8:30 p.m. and Saturday, May 28, at 11 a.m.
The St. Catharines candidate debate will premiere Thursday, May 19, at 8:30 p.m. and repeat on Saturday, May 21, at 11 a.m.; Monday, May 23, at 6 p.m. and Saturday, May 28, at 3:30 p.m.
All four debates will be posted to www.yourtv.tv/niagara and viewers will be able to watch them on demand starting Monday, May 16. The election is June 2.
