MUNOZ, Encarnacio­n "Nita", age 84, of North York, Ontario formerly of St. Catharines, Ontario, peacefully passed away at home surrounded by her loving family, after a brief illness on Thursday, May 25th, 2023. She was born on June 4th, 1938, in Sevilla, Spain, immigrated to England in 1960 and then to Canada in 1963 with the love of her life Aurelio Munoz. Nita was a loving mother and devoted homemaker, known for her exceptiona­l cooking skills and her joy in preparing meals for her family and friends, especially during the holidays. Her talents extended beyond her home, as she enjoyed working as a seamstress at Jack Nash and The Right House in St. Catharines during her career years. Nita's passions were numerous. She had a deep love for flowers and took delight in creating beautiful outdoor and indoor light displays. She was skilled in sewing and knitting, creating unique pieces with her own hands. Nita had a knack for bargain shopping, enjoyed discoverin­g treasures at great deals and was a devoted Blue Jays fan. A woman of few words, Nita had a profound impact with her pragmatism and touched the lives of all around her. Her greatest happiness came from spending time with her family and friends, bringing joy to their lives through her presence and love. Nita was a beloved wife, mother, grandmothe­r, sister, aunt, and friend. She was preceded in death by her parents, Dolores and Manolo, her brother Antonio, her sister Esperanza, her brother Manolo, and her beloved husband, Aurelio Munoz. Nita is survived by her son Ben Munoz, his wife Lisa DiBonavent­ura-Munoz, her daughter Sonia Munoz and her husband Derek Knieling, her son Anthony Munoz and his wife Christine Munoz, her granddaugh­ters Jessica Munoz, Natasha Munoz, Amanda Munoz, and Racheal Knieling. She is also survived by her sister Dolores Ventresca, her sister-in-law Acracia Munoz, her brother-inlaw Carlos Munoz, his wife Marinieve, nephews, nieces, and many friends. A celebratio­n of life will be planned at a future date to honor Nita's life and legacy. The family would like to express their heartfelt appreciati­on for the wonderful help and care provided by the staff at Canterbury Place Retirement Residence in North York, Ontario. In lieu of flowers, family and friends may choose to make a memorial donation to the Canadian Cancer Society.
