A ‘Bold and Unapologetic’ plan for Summit for Women
‘Connecting, collaborating and celebrating successes’
This year’s Niagara Leadership Summit for Women is a call to arms for attendees to embrace their true selves, stand up for their worth and go after their goals.
The 10th annual event presented by YWCA Niagara Region is April 6 at Brock University under the theme “Bold and Unapologetic.”
A news release from YWCA said the event aims to celebrate diversity in leadership among the women, girls and non-binary individuals across the region.
True to the theme, the summit also aims to create an atmosphere in which women feel empowered to lead without apologizing for their success or downplaying their achievements.
Characterizing the event as a platform, the release said attendees will be inspired and empowered through a series of inspirational speakers, workshops and discussions.
The keynote address is by Crystal D’Cunha, a bestselling author and executive leadership coach whose presentation is designed to be a practical blueprint for becoming the inspiring leader people have always admired or wished to have.
Other workshop leaders include Ursula Erasmus (Expressing Your Bold and Unapologetic Self Through Your Stories), Eve Nyambiya and Rabia Choudhary (From Surviving to Thriving – Cultivating a Culture of Care), Elyse Lappano and Sandy Howe (Using Inclusion and Decolonization as a Basis for Unlocking Bold and Unapologetic Leadership), Cindy Goldrick and Rachel Gillmore (Not an Option: What would you attempt to do if you knew you could not fail?), Randi-Lee Bowslaugh (Embracing Me), Sarah Dimick (How to Project Manage Your Goals; Lessons From a PMP on Getting Un-stuck), Aliona Starostenko (Lady Matryoshka: Empowering Yourself Through your Feminine Essence) and Anuysha Maharaj (The ABCs, Me and Inclusivity).
In the release, YWCA executive director Elisabeth Zimmermann said the summit is meant to be a catalyst for change.
“By connecting, collaborating and celebrating successes, we strive to address the primary cause of societal challenges rooted in gender inequity and social injustice,” she said.
“Our mission is to create a space that not only empowers women, girls and non-binary individuals but also builds a community where everyone thrives together.”
Tickets for the summit are available online, with organizers encouraging people to book a spot early.
Attendees can purchase a ticket for $30 or “sponsor a delegate” to allow individuals facing financial barriers to attend.
