Sarnia pediatrician charged with indecent assault on teen
A Sarnia pediatrician has been charged with sexually assaulting a teenage patient in 1982, Sarnia police said.
Kunwar Singh, 76, was charged Thursday when he reported to police headquarters, police said.
Singh is accused of indecently assaulting a 15-year-old female patient when he was assessing her at his office, police said.
The investigation that led to the charge began in October, police said.
Singh is scheduled to appear in court Jan. 8.
Singh is restricted by the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario to seeing only children after a series of sexual assault convictions in 1991. He was suspended at that time from practising medicine.
He was later reinstated with restrictions.
