The Bonavista-Trinity Minor Hockey Association (BTMHA) held their fifth Shave for the Brave event last month.

This year they had four participants: Ryan Marsh and Blair Smith, who have participated in all five events, and Benjamin Durdle and Lane Kenney.

Over the five years, BTMHA have raised nearly $8,000 for Young Adult Cancer Canada (YACC), having had 45 heads shaved while fundraising.

According to Dawn Bishop, chief operating officer for YACC, it costs about $2,000 for a young adult with cancer to participate in a four-day program, Retreat Yourself.
