Sun­ny­side mayor not an­tic­i­pat­ing quick re­solve to dor­mant Bull Arm site

Com­mu­nity lead­ers met with Nal­cor and pro­vin­cial gov­ern­ment in Au­gust

Sun­ny­side mayor Ger­ald Snook isn’t an­tic­i­pat­ing any ac­tion at the Bull Arm site any time soon.

That the im­pres­sion he came away with fol­low­ing an Aug. 3 meet­ing be­tween Nal­cor rep­re­sen­ta­tives, Min­is­ter of Nat­u­ral Re­sources Siob­hán Coady and rep­re­sen­ta­tives from the com­mu­ni­ties of Sun­ny­side, Arnold’s Cove, Come by Chance and South­ern Har­bour.

“I left that meet­ing with the sense that there will be noth­ing go­ing on in Bull Arm for the next two-to-three years,” Snook told The Packet.

“I’m less con­fi­dent now that any­thing is go­ing to hap­pen in Bull Arm un­til we see the next project, like Equinor, go­ing there.” (In July of 2018, Equnior and the province of New­found­land and Labrador an­nounced their part­ner­ship
