Twin Rivers team wins national Pro-Am title
The Twin Rivers golf team of Andy Avery, Heber Smith, Keith Barbour and pro Jim Stick won the Labatt’s National Team ProAm title this past weekend edging Ontario by two points 274-272 using the 5-4-3-2-1 Stableford scoring system.The tournament was held at the St. Charles Golf and Country club in Winnipeg, Manitoba.Each team in the tournament had one pro and three amateurs, one each from handicap groups of 0-12, 13-18 and 19-30. Following the first round of play Twin Rivers pro Jim Stick shot a 78 for 30 points, Andy Avery shot an 83 for 34 points, Heber Smith had a 92 for 28 points, and Keith Barbour shot an 89 for 40 points.Starting the final round in a three-way tie for third, six points back of co-leading Alberta and Ontario, the team charged back The Twin Rivers team, left to right: Heber Smith, Keith Barbour, Andy Avery and Jim Stick.
