Twin Rivers team wins na­tional Pro-Am ti­tle

The Twin Rivers golf team of Andy Avery, He­ber Smith, Keith Bar­bour and pro Jim Stick won the La­batt’s Na­tional Team ProAm ti­tle this past week­end edg­ing On­tario by two points 274-272 us­ing the 5-4-3-2-1 Stable­ford scor­ing sys­tem.The tour­na­ment was held at the St. Charles Golf and Coun­try club in Winnipeg, Man­i­toba.Each team in the tour­na­ment had one pro and three ama­teurs, one each from hand­i­cap groups of 0-12, 13-18 and 19-30. Fol­low­ing the first round of play Twin Rivers pro Jim Stick shot a 78 for 30 points, Andy Avery shot an 83 for 34 points, He­ber Smith had a 92 for 28 points, and Keith Bar­bour shot an 89 for 40 points.Start­ing the fi­nal round in a three-way tie for third, six points back of co-lead­ing Al­berta and On­tario, the team charged back The Twin Rivers team, left to right: He­ber Smith, Keith Bar­bour, Andy Avery and Jim Stick.
