Fish plant tread­ing wa­ter

The fu­ture of Terra Nova Fisheries and its 130 em­ploy­ees is in limbo af­ter Clarenville Town Coun­cil voted to post­pone a de­ci­sion al­low­ing them to per­ma­nently hook onto Shoal Har­bour’s wa­ter sys­tem at last week’s reg­u­lar coun­cil meet­ing.

Pub­lic Works chair Eph Car­pen­ter mo­tioned to let the fish plant con­nect to the wa­ter sys­tem, but failed to re­ceive sup­port from any of his fel­low coun­cil­lors.
