Dis­cov­ery Health Walks for Men­tal Health held through­out re­gion

The Dis­cov­ery Health Care Foun­da­tion or­ga­nized walks for men­tal health around the re­gion this past week­end, in an ef­fort to raise aware­ness and funds in many dif­fer­ent com­mu­ni­ties.

Some of the par­tic­i­pat­ing com­mu­ni­ties in­clude: Arnold’s Cove, Bon­av­ista, Trin­ity Bay North, Clarenville, Gar­den Cove, North Har­bour and Swift Cur­rent.

The Foun­da­tion is con­tin­u­ing its ef­forts lead­ing up to Men­tal Health Day on Oct. 10, chal­leng­ing all busi­nesses to pur­chase t-shirts for their em­ploy­ees and wear them on that date to show sup­port.

This was just one of the walks on Sept. 9 with lo­cal peo­ple gath­er­ing in Bon­av­ista and walk­ing from the hos­pi­tal to Old Days Pond.

The Tip-A-Vista Well­ness Foun­da­tion were also in­stru­men­tal in or­ga­niz­ing this par­tic­u­lar com­mu­nity walk and fundraiser.
