It just helps to cre­ate aware­ness to the pub­lic of MADD and the ef­fects of im­paired driv­ing.”

Be­sides the bar­beque and car wash, RNC mer­chan­dise will also be sold. This in­cludes a com­mem­o­ra­tive coin plated with the R.N.C. crest and Tour the Rock 2018 mark­ings. The coins cost $10 each.

The slo­gan for MADD is “No al­co­hol. No drugs. No vic­tims.” The Trin­ity Bay Chap­ter is cur­rently look­ing for new vol­un­teers to help spread the mes­sage of driv­ing re­spon­si­bly. Those in­ter­ested can call 466-7704.

“I just want to re­mind everyone that im­paired driv­ing is not ac­cept­able, and there are other ways to get home and keep everyone safe,” she con­cluded. “You can take a taxi, call a friend, or stay the night, what­ever it takes — as long as you’re not be­hind that wheel im­paired.”
